Chief WASH, P-5, Juba, Sudan

Purpose of post:

Under overall guidance of Senior Programme Officer, responsible for development, design, planning, implementation and management of the programme for Water and Environmental Sanitation (WASH) within the Country Programme of Cooperation.

Your profile:

  • Advanced University Degree in Civil Engineering with specialization in water and sanitation planning, management and implementation, or other related technical field.
  • Membership of international civil or water engineering institutions.
  • Ten years progressively, responsible professional work experience at national and international levels in programme planning and management in related field with emphasis on strategic planning.
  • Knowledge of latest development and technology in related field.
  • Proven ability to conceptualize, plan and manage programmes as well as to transfer knowledge and skills.
  • Leadership and organizational ability.
  • Good analytical, negotiation, communication and advocacy skills.
  • Ability to work in an international or multicultural environment.
  • Knowledge of computer management and applications.
  • Fluency in English and another UN working language required. Knowledge of local working language of the duty station an asset.

WASH Specialist, L-3, Amman ISCA, Jordan

UNICEF seeks a WASH Specialist to be based in its Amman Iraq Support Centre in Jordan. It is intended that the duty station of the position will be changed to Baghdad, Iraq in the future.

Under the guidance of the Chief of Programme Section, you will be responsible for the planning, implementation, monitoring and evaluation of assigned project(s) within the WASH sector.

Your profile:

  • Advanced university degree in civil/mechanical engineering or related technical field. Post graduate degree in environmental engineering will be an asset.
  • Five years of progressively responsible professional work experience at national and international levels in programme planning, management, monitoring and evaluation in water and sanitation sector.
  • Knowledge of latest development and technology in related field.
  • Analytical, negotiating, communication, writing and advocacy skills.
  • Supervisory and managerial skills.
  • Knowledge of computer management and applications.
  • Ability to work in an international and multicultural environment.

Information Communication Technology Specialist, P-3, Yangon, Myanmar

You will be responsible for the development and implementation of computerization plans and activities necessary for Programme Operations Control and Information/Communication Network Systems in the Office, in order to improve work effectiveness and productivity.

Your profile:

  • Advanced university degree in computer science or equivalent. Post graduate diploma or equivalent in computer programming.
  • At least five years progressively responsible international experience in EDP, systems design, office automation/telecommunication and related MIS.
  • Knowledge and experience of local area network management, design management and programming an asset.
  • Knowledge of UNICEF’s programming practices desirable.
  • Fluency in English is required. Knowledge of local Myanmar language an asset.

Education Specialist (Construction), L-3, Lilongwe, Malawi

If you are a passionate and committed professional and want to make a lasting difference for children, the world’s leading children’s rights organization would like to hear from you. UNICEF seeks an Education Specialist (Construction) to be based in its Lilongwe office, Malawi.

Reporting to the Chief, Education and Youth Development, the Education Specialist (Construction) provides technical and management support in assessing, designing, implementing and monitoring construction of schools and any kind of construction sponsored by UNICEF throughout Malawi.

Your profile:

  • Advanced university degree/professional qualification in a building/construction related field of study.
  • At least five of national/international work experience in the building/construction industry, at senior management level.
  • Extensive experience with methods of construction that utilize intermediate technology and/or the full involvement of the community in the building work.
  • Ability to express clearly and concisely ideas and concepts in written and oral form.
  • Proven skills in writing, negotiating and communication.
  • Good judgment, analytical skills, initiative, high sense of responsibility, tact and discretion and sensitive to different cultures.
  • Ability to organize and implement interviews and training.
  • Capacity to work independently.
  • Ability to work with the computer and to use Microsoft Office.
  • Supervisory ability.
  • Fluency in English or another UN language preferred.
