Senior Civil / Structural Engineer
Job Description
A Major operator plans to develop a sour gas field in Abu Dhabi to meet growing domestic needs. The reservoir is located onshore approximately 180 Km south west of the city of Abu Dhabi. Abu Dhabi has more than 200 trillion cu.ft of gas reserves. The portions of the project will be executed in 10 main packages whereby the main elements include development of wells and gathering systems, construction of a gas sweetening and treatment facility with a processing capacity of 1 billion cu.ft./d and construction of a central sulphur hub in Habshan. Sulphur produced and gathered from the Field along with the produced products from the existing facilities in Habshan will be transported to Ruwais where the sulphur granulation storage, the export terminal and the marine channel will be located.

Key responsibilities:
- Meet regularly and maintain good working relationships with the Civil and Structural Engineers in the EPC Contractor organizations
- Deals Primarily with the following systems:
- Grading for site locations and pipeline routes
- Final site profiles
- Roads and paving / gatch
- Pipelines and covering / gatch
- Foundations (equipment, buildings, structures)
- Structural Steel
- Towers
- Buildings
- Engineering / Construction Activities for the EPC contract include ensuring consistent application of, and advising the EPC Package Lead
- Review and approval of method statements for tie-ins
- Participation in risk assessments and safety reviews for tie-ins
- Review of ITP/QCP documentation to ensure alignment with Project Specifications
- Review and approval of commissioning and two-year civil/structural spares
- Review and approve insurance spares
- SPIR reviews
- Take part in safety reviews and walk-downs
Key qualifications:
- Bachelor of Science in Engineering
- 10-15 years of Specialized Civil and Structural Engineering experience
- Experience in onshore remote/desert operations
- Proven and strong interpersonal, influence and negotiation skills
- Willingness to relocate during the engineering and construction phases
- Self-starter and highly organized individual
- Strong oral and written communication skills
- Ability to work with and influence at different levels of the organization
- Work effectively with peers in a multi-disciplinary environment.
- Good command of written and spoken English
Sr Piping Engineer
Project Background:

Key basic function and scope:
- Direct & supervise piping engineers providing expertise and ensures the application of correct standards in the design and development of projects associated with gas processing, production and export.
- Responsible for design, construction, materials requisitioning, and construction of piping and related facilities including supervision of inspectors and contractors during construction and start-up.
- Key responsibilities of this position include:
- Review and approve piping drawings.
- Review and approve plot plan and equipment layout studies.
- Responsible for the issuance of piping design document and drawing.
- Preparing technical specifications and design instructions pertaining to plant design requirements and drafting procedures.
- Monitoring and controlling man-hours schedules, costs, deviation notices and work progress.
Key qualifications:
- A bachelor’s degree or equivalent degree in Mechanical Engineering from an accredited university.
- 10-15 years post graduate experience in design & development of capital projects in the oil/gas industry at senior level.
- Work effectively with peers in a multi-disciplinary environment.
- Good command of written and spoken English
