London Marine Consultants (LMC) is a UK based company specializing in the design and supply of mooring systems for FSO, FPSO and FSRU units. The company has designed five turret systems to date and numerous spread moorings with another four turrets under design/construction. The company comprises of Naval Architects, Structural, Mechanical and Marine Engineers and also has established procurement and construction expertise. Other core areas include specialist methods and design engineering for transportation and installation of fixed and floating offshore facilities, recent projects including launched and lifted structures in excess of 10,000mt and riser/mooring installation for FPSO’s in water depths ranging between 12 and 100m water depth.

Structural Engineer
(Singapore – Tanjong Pagar)

Responsibilities:

  • Responsible for detailed design up to AFC of various structures related to FPSO conversion.
  • Completion of design calculations for module supports, shipboard equipment and installation aids (STAAD, hand calculations, etc)
  • Review of work output from engineering peers and subcontractors
  • Liaison with Drafting / CAD team
  • Interface with other project disciplines (marine, turret, topsides, installation)
  • Responsible for overseeing output of graduate engineer
  • Answering site queries and site liaison during conversion and construction phases

Requirements:

  • At least 5 – 10 years of experience in oil and gas or marine industries, ideally with FPSO experience
  • Degree in Mechanical or Civil Engineering
  • Preferably a Certified Engineer
  • Good working knowledge of both first principles / hand calculations and use of STAAD software
  • Knowledge of FEA will be an advantage
  • Familiarity with ABS and API/AISC design codes
  • Preferably experience with ANSYS and AutoCAD
  • Exhibit problem analysis, decision making and time management skills
