Applicants should have a minimum Senior High School or higher is preferred with previous experience in similar role at least 5 years. Have ability in employee’s supervision, resource planning, and OHS&E supervision. Be able to operate computer and good communication skills at all levels within the Company. Ability to transfer knowledge to others.
Other requirement, be able to provide reporting and have ability to operate most of type of Mining equipment.

Including to deliver effective theoretical training in accordance with Thiess standard; to develop, review, revise and amend training packages and lesson plans; to conduct assessment activities that meet company requirements; to be involved in the planning of training activities in order to optimise the training facilities and resources; and also to review apprentice weekly reports ensuring that the training is consistent with training requirements.
This role requires recognised Trade and / or mechanical engineering Qualifications or ex Thiess Apprentices with at least 5 year field experience; certificate IV in Training; understanding of Industry practice and standard; ; ability to work effectively with others and related to colleagues and ability to cope with additional responsibilities; computer literacy and excellent English communication skill -written and verbal.

MEG MANAGER

To achieve this you will:
- Facilitate knowledge sharing to ensure transfer of best practices across sites and the business unit,
- Oversee the development of long term (12 Month) Mine Plans for projects, by the Senior Ming Planning Engineer.
- Supply mine planning and training resources as required
- Research and develop new mine planning technology to keep TCI at the forefront in mine planning aspects
- Consult with Clients and Operations/Project Managers on long term Mine Planning requirements.
- Assist tender preparation and procurement of new mining work by TCI.
- Assist and supply resources to site specific based tasks as requested
- Establish / maintain relationships with existing Clients and stakeholders
- Identify internal opportunities to create further business or add value to existing projects.
- Create a participative team environment within the Mining and Engineering Group (MEG)
- Create vision and direction for the MEG
- Liaise with Mining Managers to facilitate effective coordination of mining resources
We require tertiary qualifications in Mine Engineering (or equivalent) with significant experience in Open Pit (preferably traditional load and haul) coal mining operations, with exposure to mine related infrastructure design and a sound understanding of strategic life of mine planning combined with competent mine planning software skills.
